Charles Mehling, formerly the bass guitarist for The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and deeply immersed in the LA independent music work, Charles launched his directing career with The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s debut video.

Charles has gone on to direct music videos for artists and musicians, including The Kooks, The Script, Emeli Sande, Stereophonics, James Morrison, and others. He has also completed two music documentaries, one for The Music entitled The Music Live at the Blank Canvas , and one for Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini.
Charles broke into commercial directing with a campaign for Earle Jeans featuring supermodel Gisele Bundchen. Known for his ability to capture carefree, sexy, and natural moments on film, Charles' signature is pure glamour with a rock-and-roll edge.

His celebrity and supermodel portfolio includes the aforementioned Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zooey Deschanel, Jennifer Aniston, Naomi Watts, Natalia Vodianova, Karen Elson, Eva Herzigova, Amber Valletta, Angela Lindvall, Daria 
Werbowy, Georgia Jagger, and Lauren Hutton.

His commercial clients include Budweiser, David Yurman, Garnier, Olay, Pantene and Smart Water.
