Angie Bird has won Silver and a Bronze for the coveted Glass Lion for Change at this year’s Cannes Lions, for her work ‘First Shave’, via Skin & Bones / Grey Toronto for Gillette.

Director Angie Bird was in Cannes as Samson and Grey presented the work for the Glass Award, and saw momentum build through the week as the work was shortlisted for a total of five Lions.

Says Samson: “Angie is so very talented. The way she helped to capture my first shaving experience with my dad with such sensitivity, I just can’t thank her enough. Not just for myself, but for the hundreds of messages in my Instagram inbox from queer folk young and old, who have let me know how this ad has affected them. It’s given them the positivity and hope I wished I’d had as a young trans man – at a time when there was limited visibility and information.”
