Bruce knew he was hooked on film when, at a family party, he created his very own cinematic action scene by rigging the model ships he’d built with explosives, setting them on fire, and sending them into the bay where they exploded in huge fiery blasts.

Watching 2001: A Space Odyssey in 65mm at the Grand Old Cinema intensified his love of special effects and filmmaking. As a teenager Bruce, was introduced to legendary special-effects creator Dennis Muren (Star Wars, Close Encounters, Jurassic Park). In his native Sydney, Bruce went to work honing his skills and was hired to work on Alex Proyas’s innovative classic Dark City. Bruce then directed the second unit on the groundbreaking Matrix trilogy. He went on to direct his debut feature The Cave, and has had success working for brands including Volkswagen, Gillette, and Subaru. Whether it’s his through love of family, his passion for cars, racing sailboats or Premier League football, Bruce interjects the thrills of life into all of his work.
