Gandja was raised between New York’s Lower East Side and Rio de Janeiro. Her early exposure to a vast cultural array uniquely informs her work as a filmmaker. Gandja’s work alongside Tim Burton on Emmy nominated “Wednesday'' brought insight into the timeless struggle of youth and was ranked the second most watched English language show of all time on Netflix.

Her work on Netflix’s “Brand New Cherry Flavor” showcased her ability to create a world, and “The Chi” for Showtime showed her ability to tell a relatable human story. On the heels of directing episodes of Henry Cavill’s last season of “The Witcher”, Gandja directed episodes of the next chapter of The Walking Dead “Dead City” including the first season finale; the highly anticipated series premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. Joining the Marvel Universe, Gandja directed multiple episodes including the first finale of “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” starring Kathryn Hahn. Her feature film “SABU” for Warner Bros. starring Anthony Ramos is slated for 2024. She has directed projects in more than a dozen different countries, four continents and eight languages.
